On the occasion of the awarding of the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Lieu d’Europe teams up with the Council of Europe and the Czech Permanent Representation at the Council of Europe to honor Havel, his work and his constant fight for human rights.
This musical reading is presented by Christophe Feltz, comedian and artistic director of the Théâtre Lumière.
During his four years of imprisonment, Havel wrote hundreds of letters to his wife. These letters shed light on how he retained his intellectual liberty, even when incarcerated.
Music by Karel Gott and Véra Martinova.
