Remembrance places of the Shoah in Europe, through the lens of a photographer

Exhibition from the 27th of January until the 12th of February 2017, in the Lieu d’Europe’s glass pavilion from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. except for Monday’s

On the 27th of January 1945 7000 surviving detainees were freed from concentration camp Auschwitz. On the initiative of the Council of Europe Germany and France have chosen this symbolic date as the day of remembrance of the Holocaust and for the prevention of crimes against humanity.

On this occasion the association The living Memories of the Shoah (Les Mémoires vivantes de la Shoah) would like to ask the question in which way every human being can be a bearer and inheritor of the Shoah. The event suggested by the Lieu d’Europe is built around an exhibition of artistic photography about the remembrance of the Shoah in different countries of Europe and also includes several conferences (1; 2; 3; 4), concerts, film projection and one educational training.
