The “Daniel Riot” debating area

Riot Daniel

A projection room, a conference or debating room, the “Daniel Riot” debating area is devoted to giving voice to points of view on Europe

Meeting, debating, exchanging ideas, sharing: on its first floor, the Lieu d’Europe has endowed itself with a projection and conference room for bringing life to the missions for which it is responsible. The room can also be made available to associations.

Who was Daniel Riot?

Daniel Riot (1946 – 2009) was a French journalist who specialized in the European Union. From 1968 to 1993, he was head of the political department, then editorialist and assistant head editor of the daily newspaper Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace (DNA). In 1994, he was invited called by Jean-Pierre Elkabbach to join France television and become director of the France 3 European newsroom. He was more especially the creator and producer of the EUROPEOS programme.

In 2006, he left the France 3 newsroom and created a blog, relatio.fr, and then a European web journal, www.relatio-europe.eu.

In November 2011, “The Daniel Riot Circle” was created to continue Europe’s defence, as seen by, and in Strasbourg and perpetuate the name and ideas of Daniel Riot.
