The Information Centre on European Institutions (CIIE)

As the official information relay for the European Union, the mission of the Information Centre on European Institutions is to provide the general public with information on the European Union and all the European Institutions present in Strasbourg.

Created in 1995 by the Strasbourg Urban Community, the Lower Rhine General Council and the Alsace regional Council with support from the European Commission and French Ministry for Foreign Affairs, its mission is to inform the general public about the European Union, its programs and its policies.

From Tuesdays to Fridays, its resource centre, installed on the first floor of the Lieu d’Europe, offers a zone where everyone is free to consult written or digital documentation in a large number of languages. An archivist is available for facilitating your research and answering your questions.

The resource center also provides educational activities for primary to grammar school students with the help of tools suitable for each age group. For more information on the educational activites that the resource center has to offer please go to the main tabs entitled “School presentations” or click here.
