Did you know that?
Before the First World War, there were 28 cocoa factories in Dresden. These produced 550 tonnes of cocoa per year. At that time, this represented ¼ of all German production. The first milk chocolate, originally made from donkey’s milk, is said to have been produced in Dresden. It was Anton Reiche’s chocolate factory that marketed the first Advent calendar.
