Which object of our daily life was invented in Dresden in 1908 by Amalie Melitta Bentz?
The coffee filter.
Wanting to improve the quality of coffee for her family, Mrs. BENTZ decided to drill holes in the bottom of a tin container and placed a blotting paper disc in it. The paper coffee filter was born!
Due to the success of this invention, a patent for the “Melitta” filter was quickly registered. The company has now become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of coffee filters.
