a) Louis XVI.
b) Napoleon III.
c) Charles de Gaulle
Answer :
In 1776, the Swedish botanist Carl Peter Thunberg brought this camellia back from his trip to Japan and offered it to the Elector of Saxony. It was planted in 1800 in its present location in the park of Pillnitz Castle. It is therefore over 230 years old and is the oldest camellia in Europe.
It is protected in winter by a removable greenhouse which regulates temperature, ventilation, humidity and light.
