In the 18th century, the nobility and the upper middle class of Strasbourg, attracted by the charm of the green village of Robertsau, established “Güeter” (country houses) there. In 1784 there were 45 of them in a village of 256 households. The villa “Kaysersguet” was one of these country houses. Transformed into a Place of Europe in 2014, the villa is now a space for raising awareness of European history, current affairs and cultures. As you travel through time, discover the amazing history of this villa which, in itself, says a lot about the history of Europe.
