
ITS MISSIONS
The Lieu d’Europe is a centre for promoting European citizenship, set up to boost awareness of Strasbourg’s European institutions, values and role. Its main missions are as follows:
- Providing information at all levels for Strasbourg’s inhabitants and visitors on the history of Europe and the continent’s close links with the city;
- Bringing citizens closer to the city’s European institutions and staging events to foster discussions on European themes;
- Offering a glimpse into the cultural wealth and diversity of the countries that make up the European Union.
An outstanding location
The Lieu d’Europe stands within its own expanse of parkland in the centre of the European district and illustrates the architectural heritage of a restored country house dating back to the 18th century.

A vibrant scene
The Lieu d’Europe offers a full programme of events for people of all ages and interests, including debates, meetings with personalities, concerts and exhibitions, all dealing with various aspects of Europe.

A shared vocation
The Lieu d’Europe is a strong proponent of the sharing culture and its events are organised in close cooperation with Strasbourg associations, European institutions, consulates and permanent representations, along with the city’s University and cultural organisations and also with civil society
The Lieu d’Europe also runs a number of external projects.
